Who is responsible for your information

What information is collected

If you use the contact form, the website collects the information you send:

• your name;
• your email address;
• your business name, if you provide it;
• your phone number, if you provide it;
• your message.

The form also records basic enquiry context, such as the page you submitted the form from, the referring page if available, and any campaign parameters in the URL. For example, if you arrive from a LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram advert or link, the site may receive source information such as utm_source, utm_medium or utm_campaign. This is used only to understand where an enquiry came from.

Like most websites, the services used to run the site may also process standard technical information, such as IP address, browser information, timestamps and service logs.

How your information is used

Your information is used to:

• read and respond to your enquiry;
• keep a record of the conversation;
• understand what kind of work people are asking about;
• understand which links or campaigns led to an enquiry;
• manage the website and protect it from spam or misuse.

Business, Actually does not sell your personal information and does not use your enquiry details for a mailing list unless you separately agree to that.

Legal basis

The main legal basis for using enquiry information is legitimate interests: responding to people who contact Business, Actually and running the business properly. If an enquiry becomes client work, some information may also be used because it is necessary before entering into, or performing, a contract.

Where your information is stored and who helps process it

Enquiries are stored in Supabase and email notifications are sent using Resend. These services act as processors for the website. The site may also be hosted and delivered using a website hosting provider.

Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, appropriate safeguards should be used by those providers.

How long information is kept

Enquiry information is kept for as long as it is needed to respond to you, manage the conversation and keep sensible business records. If you ask for your information to be deleted, it will be reviewed and deleted where there is no good reason to keep it.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information. You can also object to processing in some circumstances.
